Two young lovers made an eternal oath to the stars above. The young boy’s heart was headstrong and unyielding, but times grew hard, and it became too much for the young girl to bear. One evening, she disappeared, and their love was left for dead under the full moon. The boy’s pain was so great, he asked the stars to remove his heart and spare him the burden of his loss. Pitying him, they took his heart and planted it in a nearby garden, where it stands today as the tree of hearts.
