Lincoln Parish Park Waterfall Trail Visit – 7/11/20

Last weekend, we hiked to the peak of Driskill Mountain in Simsboro, LA, and our adventures into the wild continued this weekend with an early morning stroll down the Lincoln Parish Park Waterfall Trail. We’d heard about a mysterious waterfall in Ruston, LA and wanted to check it out for ourselves!

We thought the fall would be hidden deep within the jungles of the park, but to our surprise, it was just off the road! How convenient?

The waterfall and trail are clearly marked by signs, and once you’re out of your vehicle, they take less than 5 minutes to walk to. When we arrived, water was sluggishly trickling down. But did it matter to us? Not really. We still had fun taking pictures, videos, and walking the trail.

Residents recommend visiting just after a large storm, as this puts the waterfall into full force. They say return after the tears of heaven have fallen and a rainbow materializes above. Then the waterfall resembles the Niagra Falls, and some people can’t even tell the difference. Don’t worry…we’ll be back in the future to give you some updated visuals!
