In 2020, Ruston, LA businesses struggled to adapt to nationwide regulations imposed as a result of the pandemic. Many without functional eCommerce platforms had trouble maintaining sales.
Even before the pandemic, PeachTown’s purpose was to market the Lincoln Parish community and help creators find a voice in the digital world. We started by collaborating with local artists, covering local events, and publishing reviews to help them gain exposure. Our intention has always been to give the community a voice, and we’re taking that to the next level in 2021.
Ruston Facebook users may be familiar with Ruston Market or Janna’s New and Improved Market. Crafters/DIYers in the area sometimes sell and exchange goods through groups like these, but their merchandise often gets lost in the mix of unregulated spam and secondhand items.
So we thought these issues over and tried to come up with creative solutions that would benefit Ruston creators. After listening to the community and experimenting, we came up with PeachMart.
What is PeachMart?
PeachMart is an online vendor marketplace where Lincoln Parish residents can list and sell their crafts/products both locally and nationally.
Sellers can list on PeachMart and refer their customers to the site for simple online ordering and scheduled pickup.
Sign-up gives vendors a complete seller dashboard for tracking and managing sales online. Local pickup with cash exchange is encouraged, and there is also a PeachMart payment gateway for instantly processing Paypal and credit/debit transactions (10% commission fee). This means sellers can also accept orders and ship to out-of-state customers who find the store with the help of PeachTown digital marketing strategies.
There is also a pro membership plan that gives vendors access to more listings, zero commission fees, and advertising directly on PeachTown’s high-traffic content pages.
Buyers can purchase products for local pickup in Lincoln Parish. They can also opt for shipping anywhere in the US.
