An announcement on the official Louisiana Peach Festival Facebook page states, “The Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted via videoconference yesterday to postpone the Louisiana Peach Festival to October 24, 2020.” It went on to cite Coronavirus-related problems and promised to provide future updates.
2. It’s a 1-day festival.
The festival as been shorted to one day this year. This was implied in the Facebook post we referenced above, and it’s no surprise why they did this. With so many moving parts involved and newly emerging public health concerns, condensing it down to one day will make it easier to manage.
3. Peachstock is in doubt, but The Chee-Weez will still perform.
According to the official Peachstock Facebook page, the Peachstock music festival will not take place; however, the eclectic New Orleans cover band The Chee-Weez are still scheduled to play.
